Hello. My week was great. Interesting news is that I was transferred and will come to know my new area tomorrow. It was very unexpected given that my comp, Elder Sanches had already reached the unofficial mark for maximum time in an area, 6 months. But he will break this unofficial rule and stay one more month. It's quite probable that I will go to Palmas, one of the hottest places in Brazil (and on the planet). But I will only know for sure tomorrow... Fingers crossed that I don't get barbecued in Palmas... Hey speaking of barbecue, I went to a wild barbecue this week. They speared the entire cow (without entrails) and roasted it all at once for about 16 hours... It was amazingly delicious. Another cool highlight of the week was our missionary activity. The men lost in overall pointage in the competition, leaving them with hula to dance and pies to take in the face. It was rad!
I really like the following scripture:
Doctrine and Covenants 88:67 And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.
Which is a bounce off of the following scripture in Matthew -
Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
They have to do with where we look, and thus the direction we go (try looking to the right and driving straight--it doesn't work). They have to do with comprehension of our souls' still lingering question. They have to with getting a testimony (you won't get one looking down).
I know this church is true! As a result of having eyes a bit more "fixed," serving two years in the Lord's work, I spiritually comprehend it too! Having God's light "fill (our) body" is really the most rewarding catalyst for good and the most satisfactory sensation we could possibly seek. I love my Savior.
Love you all!
