Welp I'm about as good as it gets. I was transferred to Ocidental, Goias. My new comp is Elder Nazaré from Rio de Janeiro. I was certain that I would end my mission in Vicente Pires, but God had another plan! I'm really digging this place and so far have found myself feeling very at home for having only a week here. We are teaching a very special family who recently lost their father. The mom is so faithful and is determined to bring her family to church. I sure have learned a lot from the people I have served on my mission.
The missionary house here is pretty rough. The piping leaks, there's no hot water, when it rains, it floods, and there's this thing called the "fat box" which is where the apartments put their leftover oils and fats, and guess what... when it gets too full, it overflows into our house!
I ventured to try making a homemade "sun meat" in the which, the steak undergoes a week-long aging process for next week's barbecue. I'll let y'all know how it goes!
I love God's plan. I've only come to such an appreciation and admiration through faith-catalyzed works. I wish it could be seen and understood at a quick glance, so everyone could understand it and know of it without having to do much of anything. But trying it out was the best thing I ever did. My greatest desire is that everybody will try it out.
Love,
Elder George
