The mission's pretty rad. I'm loving every day of it. Can't believe that this week I pass my hump day (officially one year in the mish). My comp and I recently did a duet in sacrament meeting which was a milestone for me in my recovery process from the trauma when I cracked up laughing while singing in front of 100ish missionaries at the MTC. This week was Diego's baptism!!! He's freaking awesome and has pushed himself so much to get to this point (fasting, reading, praying, coming to every activity to get a testimony and keep the commandments). He sought out the church completely by himself after getting recommended that he should come visit by a friend in the United States. Look what a simple invitation can do!
I bought some shoes the day before I entered the MTC because why not, and they are now my best friends. A poem:
The other shoes are toast
but I love these ones the most.
Even though they stink,
sometimes I stop to think,
What a simple idea
executed without folly,
by a humble cobbler
who truly magnified his calling.
I've laughed with them.
I've cried with them.
I've overhead squatted with them.
I know Jesus Christ lives. His church has been restored. It's all true.
